Description of the Suburbs
Subiaco
Subi is the stylish and established suburb for rich and trendy people. There are a couple of restaurants and some bars and clubs which are packed on the weekend and absolutely empty on weekdays. There are marvelous shopping opportunities for the heavier wallet.
Leederville
Leederville is the café and restaurant suburb. Some interesting shops and a couple of clubs. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Bets Seafood marked in town.
Mount Lawley
Mount Lawley is the raising suburb of Perth. Very good restaurants and good bars. This suburb is also the place where the most gays are heading to but a lot of straight people are there as well. Good atmosphere.
Northbridge
Northbridge is the party suburb in Perth. Heaps of clubs but many young people and a lot of drunk guys. Northbridge has also a very rich assortment of partly good restaurants.
West Perth and City
This Suburbs a crowded during the day but completely abandoned after 6pm.
Cottesloe
In Cottesloe is the beach where the young Perth people are heading to. There are some restaurants and some famous pubs which are always packed during the weekend. Watch the sunset during a couple of pints is a very famous sport in cott.
City Beach
Best beach in town. Unbeatable place for having a barbecue.
Absolutely Important:
To catch a taxi on the road without calling them is almost impossible. Due to the taxi system in Australia it is absolutely important to call the taxi company. The biggest is Swan Taxi (131330). The taxi system is almost every weekend hopelessly overused. In peak times between 12pm and 04am depending on the suburb, it is almost impossible to get through the Taxi line. In this case you have to be very patient or to try to catch a cab at places like hotels and big clubs. If you are in remote suburbs during the peak times, you have to be very lucky if a cab is showing up, even if you called them by phone, because the drivers prefer to be in the city. Make sure you head into the city before 10pm to 11pm.
